Oak Meadow Swim & Tennis Club Rules
GUEST POLICY
  1. All guests must register and pay a fee of $2.00 (sales tax included) upon entering the Club facilities.
  2. A member must accompany guests and the member will be responsible for them.
  3. Oak Meadow residents who are not members of the Club and “Limited Swim Team Members”, shall be limited to two (2) guests visits per season
  4. At his or her discretion, the lifeguard on duty may limit a member to 5 guests per day.
  5. The Oak Meadow Swim Club Manager must be notified, in writing, prior to using a non-member pool babysitter (13 years or older) for a juvenile member (12 years and younger).  Babysitters using the pool must register and pay the guest fee of $2.00 (Sales tax included)

6.       Requests for waivers to the above rules should be made, in writing to the Oak Meadow Swim Club Board of Directors at least ten (10) days prior to the requested effective date.


DISCIPLINE

1.       On the first violation of any rule, a swimmer receives a warning. The second violation calls for the swimmer to sit out of the pool for 10 minutes under the lifeguard stand. On the third and final infraction the swimmer will be written up and sent home for the day.

2.       A record will be kept of swimmers who violate pool rules. If a swimmer's name appears in the Record Book twice, the swimmer will be suspended from the pool for one week. Also upon a second posting in the Record Book, a letter will be sent to the parents by the Club Manager advising them of the consequences of a third offense. If a swimmer's name appears in the Record Book three times, the swimmer can be suspended from the pool for the rest of the summer.

3.       Any problem or complaints involving a member or guard that cannot be resolved by the staff on duty will be brought to the attention of the pool manager or assistant.

4.        Any person caught vandalizing club property shall be subject to legal action and expulsion from the pool with possible forfeiture of membership dues.

 

RAIN


1.       If it is raining steadily before the pool opens, guards will wait at home until it has stopped.

2.       If a steady rain begins while guards are on duty, the pool will be cleared and guards will wait for it to subside.

3.       Upon closing the pool for the rest of the day, guards will first check with the pool manager or the assistant for verification.

 

LIGHTNING
  1. If lightning is seen, the pool and the surrounding area will be cleared immediately.
  2. If 15 minutes pass without lightning, guards will reopen the pool. back to top

THUNDER

        1.   If thunder is heard, the pool and the surrounding area        will be cleared immediately.

        2.   If 15 minutes pass without thunder, guards will reopen the pool.



POOL RULES

 (revised 09/09/2007)

 

  1. The pool manager or on-duty lifeguard will be in charge of the pool operation and responsible for the enforcement of the rules and regulations.
  2. All members and their guest must register upon entering the Club facilities.
  3. Children under the age of 9 must pass a swim test given by the pool staff before visiting the pool alone. Children 7 and under must be accompanied by a mature, responsible person 13 years or older.
  4. Persons with skin disorders, colds or other infections or diseases will not enter the pool.
  5. Infants and toddlers who are not potty trained must wear swim diapers.
  6. Parents assume responsibility for children in the wading pool.  Only children age 6 or under will be allowed in the wading pool.  Parents are reminded that the wading pool is unsupervised especially during times when a lifeguard is not on duty. Please be especially careful during swim team practice, swim meets, swim lessons and adult swim times.
  7. An adult swim or break will be called for ten minutes each hour. No one under the age of 18 will be allowed in the pool during break.
  8. Running, scuffling, "dunking" or horseplay will not be allowed.
  9. The water area in front of the diving boards must be kept clear. No loitering on ladders – keep clear. No diving will be permitted from the side of the board, and no repeated bouncing or hanging on the boards will be allowed.  The diving well may be closed a maximum of 20 minutes each hour (except during water aerobics) or games.
  10. Pool games and activities will be allowed at the discretion of the lifeguard. Any game or activity that becomes too rough or dangerous will be stopped immediately.

11.   Facemasks or goggles made with glass will not be allowed in the pool. Raft usage will be allowed at the discretion of the lifeguard and will not be allowed at busy times. Floating devices attached to the swimmer for safety are allowed in the shallow end only unless accompany by a parent or adult over eighteen.

  1. No food, drink, bottles, gum chewing or cigarette smoking is permitted on the pool edge or in the pool. Food and drinks, etc. will be permitted on the patios and lawn tables, but only in unbreakable non-glass containers.

13.   No alcoholic beverages will be allowed on the Club grounds except at functions approved by the B.0.D. No persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be allowed on the Club grounds.

14.  Skates, skateboards, and similar devices are prohibited in the pool enclosure.  Water cannons or other high-powered water toys will not be allowed.

15.  The Club is not responsible for accidents or for lost or missing articles.

16.   Anyone (member or guest) guilty of repeated violations of Club rules, or guilty of conduct unbecoming of a lady or gentleman, will be suspended or expelled in accordance with current Board Policy.                                                       

                                                                           

TENNIS COURT RULES
  1. These tennis courts are for the use of members of OaK Meadow Swim Club only. Members are responsible for opening and locking the courts and for the behavior of their guests.
  2. The tennis courts are available for play from sunrise until 10:00pm daily. An automatic timer allows the lights to be used only from sundown until 10:00pm.

3.       Reservations:

a.       Signing the reservation sheet at the courts makes reservations.

b.       An individual adult member may reserve a court for any single 1-1/2 hour block of time during regular hours of play, one reservation per day.

c.       An individual junior member (18 and under) may reserve a court for any single 1-1/2 hour block of time per day except on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9:00-12:00 noon.

d.       The total number of reservations per day per family membership is two: one adult and one junior. Additional reservations are not valid.

e.       Courts may be reserved up to two days in advance (for example, on Sunday the courts may be reserved for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday).

f.         Players who do not claim their reserved court within 10 minutes will forfeit the reservation and the court will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

g.       Unreserved courts are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for all members. Adult and junior members compete on equal standing for open courts at all times.

h.       The Tennis Committee of the Board of Directors will approve tournaments and leagues at least one week in advance.

i.          Instructors seeking to use OaK Meadow tennis courts for tennis clinics, group or private lessons are required to obtain approval from the Board of Directors in writing prior to lessons.  Fee schedule will be Board approved also.

j.         All monies collected for tennis lessons, classes, and clinics will be paid directly to the Oak Meadow Swim Club and in turn swim club will pay instructor.

4.       Rules governing play:

a.       Players must wear smooth-soled tennis shoes (not running, soccer, etc. that may mark or damage the courts).

b.       A member must accompany guests. An Oak Meadow resident who is not a member of the Oak Meadow Swim Club may be a guest only twice per year.

    1. Tennis players shall all observe the ten rules of tennis etiquette. Those persons not displaying good sportsmanship and/or proper tennis etiquette may be suspended from using the tennis courts for a time period to be decided by the Board of Directors. Complaints of poor sportsmanship may be referred to a member of the Board of Directors or the Club Manager (numbers are listed monthly in the newsletter). Examples of poor tennis etiquette include abusive language, throwing rackets, etc.
    2. Only four persons may play on a court at any one time. Exceptions allowed are group lessons involving more than three people.
    3. Spectators must remain outside the fenced area.
    4. Toys, skates, skateboards, bicycles and all other non-tennis equipment are not allowed on the courts.
    5. No food or snacks are allowed inside the fenced enclosure.
    6. Only drinks in unbreakable containers are allowed inside the fence.
    7. Any person causing damage to the courts and/or equipment is subject to suspension by the Board of Directors and could possibly be held accountable for the cost of repairs.
